"Self employment can be wonderful. You get to work half days. You just have to decide is it from 12pm to 12am or 12am to 12pm. " This was some of the first advice I received from someone and I laughed. Little did I know how right he would be. Why do we go into business for ourselves? Sometimes it is money, sometimes a feeling that we could do it better, and sometimes it is for freedom. But what do you really get when you go into business?
This talk draws on my time as an accidental business owner. Someone who has built an amazing team around him across two continents and multiple products all by accident. I then will walk you through how upon finally making the decision to take things seriously, we turned our business from a hobby and a job that we owned, into a thriving self-standing business. Lessons that people can take, whether you are an looking to go independent, thinking about starting a business or just plain curious.
